Job Description

Responsible for assessing, planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and supporting an organization-wide security infrastructure.  

Design, configure, deploy and maintain the security infrastructure.

Complete any necessary security reports and audit responses, ensuring that the organization is compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements regarding information access, security and privacy.

Develop security strategy, policies, guidelines, and best practices.

Actively protect information technology assets and infrastructure from internal or external threats.  Monitor systems for anomalies, updates and patches. 

Perform threat and vulnerability assessments, in some cases followed by appropriate remedial action, to ensure that systems are protected from known and potential threats and are free from known vulnerabilities.

Assist IT team with incident response for any breaches, intrusions, or theft.

Assist end users, other IT professionals, and external customers in requesting security variances and implementation of subsequent configuration change requests.

Implement solutions to properly secure data and provide consultation on new implementations, firewall configuration changes, and projects requiring security operational support.

Improve the infrastructure and processes by proactively researching, testing and recommending enhancements and efficiencies.

Develop and maintain documentation for security systems and procedures.

Develop and implement training for other team members as well as end users.

Coordinate with vendors to obtain needed support or repair on hardware and software systems.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related computer oriented field preferred.

1 to 3 years of experience with network security protocols, hardware and software.

Equivalent experience may substitute for specific requirements.
