Job Description

Major purpose: Serving as the primary conduit between business requirements and ongoing activity within the IT Security organization, this role focuses on bridging the gap between our security team and the day-to-day business-related functions. As a security team with many key outputs to our stakeholders, it is essential to supplement security expertise with a dedicated and focused role which supports the day to day business needs of security while ensuring day to day balance across the team. The IT Security Support Analyst is the master coordinator, facilitator, and communicator of the team; coordinating and facilitating established processes such as Requests for Proposals or Proof of Concepts for new vendor selection efforts. Additional functional coordination includes our inventory tracking and renewal planning system, status updates, resource constraint reporting, and general project/initiative inventories. Finally, the IT Security Support Analyst is responsible for the aggregation and compilation of established metrics, measurements and KPIs for analysis and conversion to compelling presentation decks that can help articulate the security message being conveyed. Strong analytical and graphing/metrics skills are essential. Major responsibilities and duties: Serve as the primary focal point for the administrative and business focused needs and outputs of the security organization.

• Ongoing aggregation of established raw data points from key resources or locations for compilation into a comprehensive security analysis report. Ability to slice and dice informational data points to clearly and professionally convey a simple outward message.

• Primary driver in soliciting key requirements in ongoing reporting outputs; further maturing or defining final reporting format, design, and supporting data points based on intended audience (ranging from internal operations to executive stakeholders)

• Security metric trending, alerting, combining and aggregating to derive the desired level of intel being requested; working with subject matter experts to identify current data point capabilities vs those to pursue.

• Coordination, reporting and tracking of existing and pending team initiatives and workload; aggregating time tracking data points and reflecting team resource utilization gaps.

• Management of internal lifecycle management workflows, deriving timelines of matters coming due and the established lead times for associated initiatives that result. Driving follow-through and execution across the team as defined to ensure nothing is missed or delayed.

• Assessing current investment inventory of tools and services against established budgets; monitoring and alerting for renewals, expirations, changes in scope or costs, etc.

• Serve as the primary interface with our finance and purchasing teams when orchestrating vendor Requests for Proposal or Proof of Concept activities. This role would facilitate the vendor selection process from requirements gathering through to the contractual phase.

• Tracking, reporting, alerting, and influencing inventory of ongoing team action items, commitments, or timed outputs; this role is the primary owner of ensuring all team activities are accounted for and being delivered as committed.

Requirements: Experience in an information technology analytical or project coordination capacity.

• Strong ability to multitask and coordinate large-scale initiatives while driving results through consistent and collaborative influence. Follow through, communications, and planning are essential to this role.

• General understanding of Information Technology concepts and environment, aptitude to understand security concepts as they pertain to technology; strong sense of seeking to understand.

• Advanced analytical skills; ability to translate raw data points into a desired story or message; pivot tables, trend analysis, averages are all key expectations coupled with the drive to truly understand what is to be reported (strong critical thinking aptitude). Advanced graphical presentation skills coupled with an inherent ability to understand the what and why of information being compiled.

• Proficient / advanced experience in MSOffice suite of tools, MSProject, Sharepoint or Confluence

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a complex environment; master of following up, communicating, and collaborating.

• Solid understanding of standard business processes including work prioritization, continuous improvement, capability maturity model, status reporting, effective communications, etc

• 3-5 years experience in an Information Technology setting with direct experience in an analyst or project coordination capacity.

• Experience in cultivating a team environment that effectively supports the business.

• Clear and professional verbal and written communications

• Superior reporting and graphical representation skills to convey specific messages derived from data points.
