Job Description

The Position

The IT Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading multiple complex software implementation, infrastructure, integration, and software development projects including planning, managing, execution, risk mitigation, tracking, communication, and reporting through the complete solution delivery cycle.  This positon will also be heavily engaged in IT governance activities. Ideal candidates will have a background practicing both waterfall and agile/scrum development practices.

This position reports to the Director of Technical Program Management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

        Lead integrated project teams on business enablement projects

        Contribute to the long-term business systems/solutions vision, and help build the roadmap with key business stakeholders

        Work with stakeholder teams to ensure project success within budget, schedule and scope

        Serve as an expert regarding scope and project objectives, solution’s value and technology, as well as the role and function of each team member

        Drive priorities working with business stakeholders and vendors through the entire solution delivery cycle

        Responsible for project reporting including dashboards, status reports, roadmaps

        Responsible for internal and external communication, transparency, and distribution of information

        Facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution; Meeting facilitation/moderation and minutes

        Facilitate process improvement and maintain process documentation

        Identify issues and risks; track and drive to closure

        Engage with stakeholders to elicit and record business requirements, gather and analyze data, identify process gaps, identify effective web-based solutions and systems integration, create functional and non-functional requirements

        Serve as product owner for a select product portfolio; ensure the development team understands the work to be done

        Assist in developing test plans and participate in integration and test activities

        Apply Kaufman Hall’s IT technical standards and best practices

Qualifications

        Experience with business enterprise solution discovery and implementation, software integration, and business process improvements

        Experience with vendor management for IT enterprise integration projects

        5+ year technical program or project management experience required

        Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a software development team environment

        Ability to drive product definition, success criteria, align product and business goals

        Experience with business and technical requirements management

        Requires a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

        Successful track record of seeing projects through the complete solution delivery cycle

        Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, scope and drive multiple projects to completion

        Excellent communication skills with ability to influence business and technical decision makers

        Great collaboration skills with a professional and positive attitude

        Experience as a team lead or equivalent role

        Excellent organization and time management skills

        Requires excellent technical acumen and the ability to acquire deep understanding of product functions and interfaces

        Ability to adapt to a changing, fast-paced, team environment and multi-task assignments

        A thorough understanding of both waterfall and Agile methodologies, values, and procedures

        Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail

        Ability to work in the US without sponsorship required

Preferred Qualifications

        Project Management degree or certification (PMP, etc.)

        Agile Scrum certification (ACP, CSP, PSM II, CSM)

        Experience capturing and documenting requirements using wireframes, mockups, and storyboards

        Experience with software test and test management tools and techniques

Education:

        Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field is required
