Primary Purpose:

Be part of a dynamic new team within Univar IT dedicated to improving employee’s experience on the most widely used productivity and collaboration tools and devices. We are focused on accelerating the delivery of new solutions and processes to enhance productivity, increate adoption and value generation from new and existing capabilities. These solutions and standards will be rolled out globally.

The O365 Senior Engineer – Workplace Technologies will be focused on implementing innovation solutions to improve collaboration and productivity across Univar. You will be a technical go-to for all things O365 including changes & updates, roadmap & releases and processes.  Initial scope will be focused on O365 but will likely expand to other non-Microsoft collaboration and productivity tools as well.    

Responsibility

  • Demonstrate technical thought leadership around O365 collaboration suite and features that can be used to improve employee experience.
  • Initiate POCs of new technologies / solutions in the collaboration space
  • Identify and act on opportunities improve global collaboration
  • Partner with and provide guidance to regional O365 Admins on process and technical solutions
  • Manage Office 365 tenant administration specific to collaboration tools.
  • Deliver solution design and deployment of desktop and mobile technologies.
  • Lead deployment and support of audio/web conferencing solutions.
  • Strong analysis and problem solving capabilities.

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as O365 engineer.
  • About 5-7 years of overall experience in design, deployment and migration activities for large and complex projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar from fully accredited four year institution is required
  • Microsoft certifications in relevant technologies preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • O365 Collaboration tools - One Drive, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Groups, SharePoint Online and Intune.
  • Experience with Windows and Office rollouts.
  • Experience in Azure, Mobile Identity Management (MIM) and automating with PowerShell.
  • Adept at working in a fast paced, changing environment. Ability to react quickly and efficiently to developing situations with minimal information or data.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to understand the technical implications of business decisions and requests.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment. Experience with Jira preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about latest collaboration techniques and tools in the industry.

  • The Senior O365 Engineer will be focused on implementing innovative solutions to improve collaboration and productivity across Univar as a thought leader for efficient and effective full life cycle management of end user devices in the enterprise and adoption of the O365 suite of products and capabilities.  Creation, implementation and management of solutions and processes including SCCM, MDM and interfacing with collaboration products like O365 including deployment, changes, updates, roadmap & releases and process refinement and adherence.  Initial scope will be focused on stabilization of present SCCM environment for Windows 10 and O365 Collaboration tools including:  One Drive, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and will quickly expand to full lifecycle management and tools like Intune and Azure AD to improve the user experience and create best in class service to Univar employees.

Responsibility

  • Provide thought leadership around O365 collaboration suite and SCCM and their use in the enterprise
  • Collaboration with team and vendors to implement logical and efficient solutions to generate value
  • Manage SCCM, Intune and MDM administration of EUC devices and experience.
  • Rollout O365 collaboration tools like One Drive, Teams and SharePoint Online migrations.
  • Deliver solution design and deployment of desktop and mobile technologies.
  • Provide leadership and partner with regional run teams on relevant and robust management toolsets including reporting and automation to effectively manage devices and striving to provide best in class experience
  • Strong analysis and problem solving capabilities.

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as SCCM engineer in environments over 10k+ seats.
  • Minimum 6 years implementation and support experience with O365 suite of products in the enterprise.
  • Minimum 8 years of overall experience in design, deployment and migration activities for large and complex projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar from fully accredited four year institution is required
  • Microsoft certifications in relevant technologies preferred.

  • Ability to work in an agile environment.  Experience with Jira preferred.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about the latest deployment and management tools in the industry and adoption of cloud technologies.
