Lead Electrical Engineer

Interactive Business Systems has partnered with a Cincinnati company to locate a lead electrical engineer for a contract-to-hire position.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead engineering efforts of a group of engineers responsible for completing specific projects. 
  • Responsible for designing and developing electrical designs for material handling equipment. 
  • Understand equipment requirements, business and customer requirements that drive the design of the technical solution. 
  • Participate in all phases of product development lifecycle, including the analysis, design and equipment construction, installation support of designed equipment and support of other complimentary engineering staff for programming and site startup
  • Determine requirements for electrical motor and controls required to create electrical controls

  • Design electrical drawings and division of control areas for electrical control panels

  • Design control devices to be installed on material handling equipment (MHE)

  • Generate bill of materials required

  • Provide technical support to purchasing as needed during procurement process

  • Verify proper build of designed system

  • Maintain and continue understanding of various MHE manufactures equipment

  • Ability to lead multiple projects at one time

  • Provide guidance and assistance to other engineers

  • Support field engineers during system installation and start-up

  •  Periodic travel is required, including the potential for international travel.Researches, evaluates, and incorporates new technology and tools to enhance design and engineering solutions

  • Resolve site requirement changes, and support solution to complete designed equipment installation

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Lead Electrical Engineer


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • 6+ years MHE industry experience preferred

  • 3+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)

  • AutoCAD Electrical Software experience preferred

  • Designing high speed control systems

  • Knowledge of motion control hardware

  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients

  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
