Interactive Business Systems (IBS) has partnered with Milwaukee based company to find a Security Engineer for a direct hire position.


The IT Security Engineer supports organization in the design and development of security solutions, product life cycle, forensics and investigations, IT & Application penetration testing, documentation, and RCA's.  The IT Security Engineer's role is to facilitate and gather requirements from our customers and provide security solutions to meet their needs while aligning with companies strategies, policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. The Security Engineer will work closely with the Security Analysts, Management and Consultants to develop solutions and direct activities of Security Administrators in implementation and daily administration of Business and Manufacturing Security systems to support organization.


  • Bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, or related field, or an Associate degree with a minimum of 5 years of progressive IT experience
  • 3 plus years' of information security experience
  • Experience with a variety of security tools and technologies including: firewalls, VPN, access management, directory services, SEIM, IDS/IPS, malware analysis, endpoint protection, content filtering, data loss prevention, web application firewalls, vulnerability scanners, forensics software, and cryptography
  • Experience with networking concepts, technologies, and protocols
  • Hands on system administration experience with Linux and Windows
  • Knowledge of application, system, and network security attacks and mitigation techniques
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and security concepts
  • Project management skills to support IT Security initiatives
  • Ability to build relationships and provide solid customer service across both technical and functional areas of the business
  • Demonstrated communication skills in working with both functional and technical teams at various levels in the business


  • Masters degree in computer science, MIS, or related field
  • Experience working in and supporting a manufacturing environment and industrial control systems
  • Security related certification (For example Security+, GSEC, CISSP, CEH)
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages


  1. Develop, implement, and maintain security standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for the enterprise
  2. Administration and support security tools and infrastructure
  3. Support security compliance with industry and government rules and regulations
  4. Develop and lead the implementations of secure, workable solutions aligned with business objectives to protect systems, networks, and applications
  5. Research, document and present unresolved or suspected security exposures, misuse or noncompliance situations to management
  6. Proactively monitor, detect, and respond to security violations, vulnerabilities, and alerts from security tools
  7. Partner in forensic investigations using standard tools and procedures to provide data to Legal, HR, Internal Audit, and Management
  8. Report security performance against established security metrics
  9. Provide subject matter expertise for architecture, planning and roadmap sessions
  10. Contribute to and support employee security awareness and training initiatives
  11. Collaborate with other teams as necessary to ensure customer service levels are met
  12. Support Root Cause analysis on incidents engaging proper SMEs for assistance
  13. Facilitate in the selection of vendors, devices and tools and provide security input to management
  14. Document solutions to be handed off to tier I and II support organizations
  15. Provide Tier II escalation support
