IT Project Manager with Peoplesoft Implemenation Experience in Cincinnati, OH at Interactive Business Systems

Job Description

Interactive Business Systems has partnered with a Cincinnati company to locate an IT Project manager with experience in Human Capital Management systems (HCM systems)  for a contract position.

The ideal candidate will have experience with system implementations with HCM software such as PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM, Vantage, etc. PeopleSoft implementation experience strongly preferred but other system experience will suffice.


  • Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all phases of the project
  • Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost and quality parameters
  • Partners with architects to ensure alignment
  • Creates realistic project and quality plans which include project interdependencies
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, designs, plans, executes and evaluates work to time, cost and quality targets
  • Estimates costs, time and resource requirements
  • Tracks all activities against the project plan
  • Monitors budget, schedule and resources used, and takes action where deviation from agreed tolerances occurs
  • Identifies, assesses and manages risk to the success of the project
  • Identifies, assesses and manages issues and escalates them so that they do not impact project viability
  • Provides regular and accurate status reports to project sponsor, project executives and senior management
  • Participates in procurement management including contract negotiations and wording
  • Motivates team members and provides individual performance data to resource managers for associate reviews
  • Operates phase containment by ensuring all deliverables for the phase are produced and meet agreed quality criteria, next phase plan is complete and lessons learned are gathered and documented
  • Collaborates with other managers within the IT function and within the business units to manage expectations

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Five or more years of recent project management experience, including the management of large and strategic initiatives.
  • The ability to quickly earn the trust of others, set direction and approach, resolve conflicts, deliver difficult messages with grace and act with limited information and ambiguity
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally.
  • Communicating effectively through presentations and meeting facilitation
  • Organizing, planning and managing time
  • Managing engagements with executive level visibility and interaction
  • Proven ability to manage large project efforts involving multiple business units and support organizations
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively.
  • Maintaining a high sense of urgency and operating with a passion to succeed
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Negotiating and influencing
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • An intermediate level of microsoft® office experience
  • Sound business and technical acumen
  • Experience with microsoft project

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiar with managing large multi-million dollar projects involving more than 15 team members on efforts with significant business implications across multiple areas
  • Experience working with vendors and external consultants to implement enterprise software
  • Experience implementing a SAAS solution for a talent management, performance management and learning management system. 
  • Experience with PeopleSoft integrations
  • Sharepoint experience
  • Project management professional certification
  • Experience managing iterative projects
  • Experience managing agile projects
  • Experience in lean, six sigma and process improvement projects
