Job Description

ETL Developer

 

This is a client-facing role with responsibility for planning, execution, tracking and reporting of ETL/Integration projects across multiple service lines. 

Responsibilities

-          Analyze source systems for data profiling and creation of source to target mapping specifications. 

-          Determine optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source systems.

-          Implement and refine required business transformation rules and logic.

-          Design and develop exception handling, data standardization procedures and quality assurance controls.

-          Profile and understand large amounts of source data available, including structured and semi-structured/web activity data.

-          Conduct thorough testing of ETL code changes to ensure quality of data produced.

-          Conduct ETL performance tuning, troubleshooting, support, and capacity estimation.

-          Provide day-to-day support and mentoring to end users who are interacting with the data.

Requirements

-          This should be a capable developer with 8+ years of ETL development experience, preferably in Informatica PowerCenter.

-          Experience with scheduling tools – Contro-M, Tivoli, Autosys.

-          Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to design, develop, test, debug, and maintain application programs.

-          Ability to present technical concepts to senior level business stakeholders.

-          Must be able to work independently, while guiding and assisting other development team members as needed.

-          Excellent understanding of data warehousing concepts.

-          Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.

-          Experience executing programs in an on/off-shore model. 

-          Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.

-          Ability to adapt to and manage change in a dynamic environment, revising strategies and plans as needed to smoothly change direction.

-          Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively, prioritizing efforts to handle multiple activities in parallel.
