Job Description

Interactive Business Systems is teaming up with a Detroit company in search of a Helpdesk Support technician! It would be a long term contract!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Under the direct supervision of the Call Center Manager, provides routine user support, simple problem analysis and resolution, general technical assistance, and training for information systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

o Performs problem solving and assistance on various software applications, and hardware systems such as PCs and printers for department users.

o Performs routine hardware and software maintenance and assistance and assists in proper upkeep and utilization of systems.

o Provides technical assistance and maintenance support to departmental and end users, hands on and via telephone remotely.

o Documents the problem resolution steps performed into the call tracking system.

o Deploy hardware and software to end-users as necessary.

o Assist with hardware transport between locations as necessary. Responsible for inventory control of assigned location.

o Maintains knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.

o May provide individual and/or group instruction and training to staff on computer hardware and software.

o Participates in projects to set new technological and service directions.

o Enters all user support issues into call tracking database, and escalates to a higher level when necessary.

o Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

o Ability to perform preventive maintenance on computer hardware, peripherals and software.

o Ability to analyze and resolve computer problems.

o Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.

o Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications.

o The physical ability to lift up to 55 pounds.

o Ability to determine computer/ network problems and coordinate hardware and or software solutions.

o Ability to document work in progress

o Knowledge of problem tracking procedures, and problem tracking software

o Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems.
