Job Description

The Senior Interactive Developer will serve as a software development expert and project strategist with a focus on ideation, project planning, leadership, and overall technical project execution for the technical responsibilities within the SDLC. The Senior Interactive Developer assists in the creation and development of interactive work with experience designing front-end interfaces and backend infrastructure to meet the client’s strategic needs. The Senior Interactive Developer must have an advanced understanding of current programming and object-oriented design approaches. Work includes content creation and preparation for, but is not limited to the following:

 • Websites, including: microsites, portals, interactive visual aids and immersive experiences 

• Cross-platform mobile web applications 

• Native iOS/Android/Windows applications

• AR/VR/Convention experiences • Display advertising & mobile engagement

 Functions and Responsibilities Required Development Skills

 – Minimum seven (7) years professional development experience, preferably in an agency environment 

– Strong logic and analytical skills

– A desire to understand the next generation of web technology 

– Experience developing / architecting web applications 

– Experience developing responsive and/or adaptive web applications and email

– Programming Experience - .NET (C#), HTML5, CSS3, Node.js, JavaScript, etc… 

– Database Experience - MySQL or other relational databases – Good understanding of Agile development methods 

– Good understanding of object oriented design/programming 

– Experience with industry platforms (e.g. SiteCore, Veeva, Skura, SharePoint, WordPress, Drupal, AEM, etc.) 

– Experience with modern analytics systems and implementation

– Works within source code management environments and methodologies (e.g. SVN, GIT, TFS) – Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, able to translate layouts into programming templates 

– Strong understanding of best practices and code standards for web and local delivery 


Required Team Skills

 – Demonstrated success in leading the development effort of interactive projects, including experience in leading, supporting, and mentoring other developers

 – Collaborates with department leadership to:

 • Recommend and implement tactics that bring to life the creative vision

 • Solve conceptual challenges and create preliminary application models

 • Determine the most appropriate solutions for the medium and recommend approaches

 • Works collaboratively with other disciplines and departments 

– Assist in determining programming needs based on creative and functionality requirements – Review each project for accuracy, functionality and ensuring code quality before releasing to Quality Assurance team 

– Document all work according to standards for distribution Additional Desirable Talents and Skills 

– Experience managing Web Apps and VMs within Microsoft Azure 

– Advanced knowledge integrating HTML5 video, including optimizing file size and playback quality 

– Expertise integrating front-end programming with middleware or back-end applications

– Experience with brand advertising, medical advertising, direct marketing, or promotions agencies 

– Experience developing native applications for iOS and/or Android 

– Able to deliver capabilities and other types of code-specific presentations to internal and external clients 


Personal Characteristics/Attributes 

The Senior Interactive Developer is integral to the development process. Possessing an excellent eye for detail, this individual will consistently produce high quality work that meets both creative and technical requirements. The Senior Interactive Developer is extremely organized and maintains files in a systematic fashion and controls versioning as a project progresses. This individual is self-directed and self-disciplined; able to work without supervision while continuing to meet all deadlines. The Senior Interactive Developer can communicate effectively with other creatives and technical developers. Finally, good all-around interpersonal skills are a requisite criterion for success. Related Experience Experience in an advertising agency with a healthcare focus is a plus. Advertising agency experience is characterized as a multi-disciplined environment working across such roles as creative, copywriters, as well as account teams.
